Two experts in custom game design to help you bring your play creations to life

We’re a team of experienced and creative minds based in Lyon, France. We love what we do and we’re passionate about making our customers smile! We work on fun and ambitious game projects for customers in France and around the world.

Concepteo is where wild creativity and a method that’s open to all ideas and possibilities come together!

Our creative sessions are like a fireworks show of ideas, sketches, and mind maps to structure!

We start with a subject, an idea, a brief, or a set of specifications, and then we’re off! Ideas flow, research begins, and we explore all kinds of avenues. Some ideas are rejected, some evolve, and others become prototypes to be tested!

And you know what? An idea doesn’t just sit there! It lives and grows, it’s worked on and developed…

Storytelling

The story behind Concepteo:

Concepteo was founded by Catherine Mollica at the end of 2012.

At the time, her business was service innovation consulting. She used all kinds of creative techniques, especially games, to get those ideas flowing!

In 2013, Jean-François Rochas joined the company with the wonderful idea of creating game concepts.

At the time, Concepteo was based in a business incubator in Rillieux la Pape. One of the incubators asked them to join forces and create a serious game. The result was Coup d’Pouss, which is still in use today!

And that’s how Concepteo quickly refocused its activity around board games, whether educational or not!

Learning through play: an innovative teaching approach

At Concepteo, we truly believe in the power of play to help us all learn and grow.

Our serious games are not only lots of fun and super interactive, but they’re also designed to help you memorize things more easily.

In today’s digital world, it can be tough to concentrate. That’s where games come in! They bring back the joy of learning through fun, hands-on, social, and genuine experiences.

That’s why we only create tailor-made educational games! We’ll make sure they’re perfectly adapted to your needs, your audience, and the context in which they’re to be used.

We’re on a mission to create some truly amazing, sensory, and authentic play experiences with our corporate games.

Our values in creating board games

At Concepteo, we’re all about professionalism, curiosity, and creativity!

We love a challenge, and we’re always up for the chance to combine performance, meaning, and the pleasure of learning. It’s what drives us to give our best to each and every one of our projects.

We really believe it’s so important to work together with our customers and stakeholders in a friendly, cooperative spirit.

We’re so grateful to be able to offer our customers tailor-made serious games solutions that combine pedagogy and the pleasure of play thanks to the genuine teamwork of our team!

And it’s all thanks to the vision and sincerity of our exchanges that our games and toys create the fun of tomorrow!

After two decades of professional experience, she’s decided to embrace her playful side!

Whether it’s analyzing situations, the rules of a game, or creating puzzles, she’s always eager to create and learn.

She just loves to study and dissect things in a really thorough way to understand them and get to the heart of the matter.

She always has a smile on her face as she laugh a lot . She’s a dog lover, enjoys train travel, is a big fan of Dr. Who and Star Trek.

She’s got a knack for getting to the heart of the matter, and her trusty tools are Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. But it’s Illustrator that’s become her new best friend!

The Syndicat Français des Serious Game Designers was born at the end of 2023, and Concepteo was there right from the start!

It’s so important for this brand-new profession to be recognized and valued! The union works to promote awareness and recognition of the Serious Game Designer profession, and acts as an intermediary with public authorities.

It also documents the profession on ethical, technical, economic, and legal issues, so that we can all be on the same page.

The union is also a great place to share and learn from each other about the best ways to do things.

The Maison des Entreprises du Plateau Nord (CAP NORD) is a space for entrepreneurs, with support and help for new business ideas and economic projects. It’s in Rillieux-la-Pape, near Lyon.

Concepteo began its first 3 years of existence within this business incubator, and has continued to participate in its activities ever since, notably by running the Capsule, its third-party Fablab.

We also run 3D printing and laser cutting workshops there!

We helped set up the EdTech Lyon association, which has 75 members, including 50 Edtech companies, 22 other players in the field (training centers, higher and secondary education establishments, social and economic players), and several research teams in three laboratories.

The Association EdTech Lyon was born out of the desire of entrepreneurs to create a space for meeting and sharing ideas on issues relating to digital education and digital learning. It invites players in the field, researchers, key accounts, and EdTech companies to exchange and share best practices.

The goal is to create top-notch digital tools for all types of users and make sure they’re easy to use for effective lifelong learning.
